The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is an international program of the World Health Organization and UNICEF that recognizes hospitals that have put into place policies and practices that enable parents to make informed decisions about how to feed and care for their baby, including taking steps to create the best possible environment for successful breastfeeding.
